But most people who get HTML from Claude or ChatGPT today don't code. They want to send the file to three colleagues who read and comment on it on their phones – privately, without a repository, without a build. That is what Annopane is built for.
When Netlify, Vercel & GitHub Pages is the better choice
- You are building a real website or web app with a build pipeline, Git and a custom domain.
- The result should be public, scale and be found by search engines.
- You need serverless functions, environment variables, preview deployments per branch.
When Annopane is the better choice
- It's a file, not a project – and it should stay private, optionally with a password.
- Recipients should be able to comment, without an account, right on the element; the AI should apply the feedback.
- You want the file offline on the phone, as an app with its own icon.
- Nobody on the team wants to touch Git, terminal or DNS.

For developers: keep your stack
If you already work in Git, a deploy to Vercel or Netlify is no effort, and you get things Annopane will never offer: free custom domains, edge functions, preview environments, unlimited size. Annopane doesn't compete here.
For everyone else: the link is not the goal
A hosting link is public, has no password, no comments and looks like a web page on the phone. Someone sending a report to management wants the opposite: private, commentable, like an app. And someone who built the file with Claude wants the comments back in Claude, not collected in emails.
Our verdict
Website or web app with a pipeline: Netlify, Vercel or GitHub Pages. A single file that goes privately to people, gets commented on and should work like an app on the phone: Annopane. Developers can combine both – deploy the production site and share the prototype for feedback via Annopane.
Try Annopane for freeFrequently asked questions
Can I upload a site built with Vite or React to Annopane?
Yes, if the build produces a standalone bundle (index.html plus assets with relative paths). Upload the dist folder as a ZIP – Annopane serves the files via a service worker.
Why not just GitHub Pages with a secret link?
GitHub Pages is public and indexed by search engines; a “secret” path is no protection. Annopane links are not indexed and can be secured with a password and expiry date.
