Share an HTML file as a link – no hosting, no account

Sending an HTML file by email almost always goes wrong: the recipient sees source code, the attachment gets blocked, or the page looks broken without its images. A link solves that – if it's created without a web server, Git and DNS.

In short

Drop the HTML file on annopane.com → “Share link” → copy the link. Without an account the link is valid for 7 days; with a free account permanently, with password, expiry and comments. Recipients need no account.

Here's how in 30 seconds, and what you should know about privacy and feedback.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Drop the file

Open annopane.com and drag the HTML file (or a ZIP with index.html, images and scripts) into the box. On the phone: “Choose a file” or “share” the file from Mail/Files to Annopane.

  2. 2

    Create the link

In the file's menu choose “Share link (no account)” – done, the link is copied and shown as a QR code. With an account: “Share” → choose a role (view or comment), optionally set a password and expiry.

  3. 3

    Send it

Send the link by email, WhatsApp, Teams or Slack – or hold up the QR code in the meeting. Recipients open it in the browser; on the phone the file feels like an app.

  4. 4

Collect feedback and the next version

Recipients tap an element and comment – with a name, no account. You see all comments in one place, copy them as an instruction into Claude or ChatGPT and upload the new version under the same link.

What about privacy?

The file is stored encrypted on servers in the EU. Links consist of random characters and are not indexed by search engines. With an account you can additionally set a password and expiry date and delete any link at any time. Without an account, guest links are removed automatically after 7 days.

Alternatives and when they are better

For a permanent website on your own domain, hosting services like tiiny.host, Netlify or GitHub Pages are better suited. For a file that goes privately to specific people and needs feedback, the Annopane link is the shorter path. The comparisons are linked below.

Frequently asked questions

How large can the HTML file be?

Guest links: up to 10 MB. With an account: up to 50 MB per file, including ZIP bundles with images, CSS and scripts.

Does JavaScript work in the shared file?

Yes, fully – charts, filters, calculators, canvas, modules. External network calls are blocked by default for security and can be allowed per file.

Can I change or delete the link later?

Yes. You can upload a new version under the same link at any time or delete the link. Guest links expire automatically after 7 days.

Do recipients see ads or need to sign up?

No. There are no ads. Viewing and commenting work without an account; only a small “Made with Annopane” badge is shown (removed from Pro).
