Comment on and share a PDF – all feedback in one place

A PDF goes to five people, back come five emails, two marked-up copies and a phone call. Whoever merges that loses half a day. The problem isn't the PDF but the path: attachment instead of link, email instead of comment at the spot.

In short

Drop the PDF on annopane.com → “Share” → role “Commenter”, optional password → send the link. Recipients tap a text passage in the browser or drag a region and write their comment – with a name, no account. You see all comments in one list, export them or tick them off.

Here's how to share a PDF as a link, have people comment right on page and text passage, and get all feedback collected – without recipients needing Adobe, an account or an app.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Upload the PDF

annopane.com → drop the file (up to 50 MB). The PDF is shown page by page, with zoom and text search.

  2. 2

Create a link with commenter role

“Share” → role “Commenter” → optional password and expiry → copy the link or show the QR code.

  3. 3

    Recipients comment

Tap comment mode, tap a text passage or drag a region, write the comment. Every comment knows page, quote and position. Signed in or as a guest with a name.

  4. 4

Apply and upload a new version

The comment list shows everything in one place. “Export” creates a list with page and quote – for you, your colleague or Claude. Upload the new PDF version, tick off resolved comments, same link.

Compared to Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive & co.

Acrobat comments excellently – but recipients need the app and often an Adobe account, and comments live in copies of the file. Google Drive needs a Google account to comment and shows PDFs rather clumsily on the phone. Annopane: open link, comment, done; comments sit centrally with you. For print, signature and archive Acrobat remains the right choice.

Frequently asked questions

Can recipients comment without an account?

Yes. Via a link with the “Commenter” role, a name is enough. The guest recognizes their own comments on the same device and can edit them.

Are comments written into the PDF file?

No, they are stored separately at Annopane and point to page, quote and position. The PDF file stays unchanged; the export provides the list.

Is there a size limit?

50 MB per file with an account, 10 MB for guest links without an account.
