Comment on and share a PDF – all feedback in one place

Sending PDFs by email is easy – collecting the feedback is not: one reply in the mail, one in the Teams chat, one as a screenshot with an arrow. Annopane puts the PDF under a link, and every remark lands in one list with page and text passage.

In short

Upload the PDF to Annopane, send the link. Recipients open it on their phone or computer, tap a spot and comment with page number and highlighted text. You see everything collected instead of in five email replies.

Rendering happens on the viewer's device (PDF.js). The PDF is neither converted nor modified.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the PDF

Up to 100 MB with an account, 10 MB as a guest link. It stays on the device until you share.

  2. 2

Share the link with a role

“Comment” is the default; anyone who should only read gets “View”. Password and expiry optional.

  3. 3

    Work through the comments

Each comment carries page, position and highlighted text. Tick off what's done, upload the new PDF version under the same link.

What works

  • Comment at a position on the page or on highlighted text
  • Page number and quote in the comment – unambiguous, also in the export
  • Works on the phone without installing an app
  • Versions: new PDF, same link, comments stay assigned
  • Export as prompt: “page 3, paragraph ‘Revenue’: update figure”

What doesn't (yet)

  • No editing of the PDF itself (no form filling, no signature)
  • Scanned PDFs without a text layer: comments by position, but without a text quote

Typical uses

  • · Draft of a report or contract for alignment
  • · Pitch deck as PDF for investors – with questions at the spot
  • · Proof rounds for brochures and presentations

Frequently asked questions

Do recipients need Acrobat or an account?

Neither. The PDF opens in the browser; commenting works with a name.

Is the PDF modified or converted?

No. It is displayed unchanged; comments are stored separately.

Can I highlight text?

Yes, if the PDF has a text layer. The highlighted text lands as a quote in the comment.

How do I get the comments back into my document?

Export as a list with page and quote – or as a prompt to Claude if the document was created there.
